Episode 1 - Glenfinnan
The Scottish podcast series kicks off in one of the most loved villages in the Highlands, Glenfinnan. Made famous by tales of Jacobites and boy wizards both, we are looking primarily at the local traditional music scene. Chatting with musical talents Ingrid Henderson and Ian and Charlie Macfarlane, we discover how the location, history and people come together to make the magic.
Episode 2 - Loch Sunart and the Isle of Carna
Freya and Neil head south, away from the relative bustle of from the Road to the Isles, to Loch Sunart. A quick chat with the local wild swimming group is followed by a boat trip to the idyllic private Isle of Carna to talk all things conservation.
Episode 3 - Gone Fishing
While we take our meandering Highland roads for granted these days, it was the waterways that brought civilisation to these so-called ‘Rough Bounds’. Without the bounty of the sea these parts would be very different indeed. In this Scottish podcast episode we are delving into the inky depths of the fishing industry, chatting with local fisherman Ian and local Seafood Shack owner Paula on why Scottish seafood is the best in the world.
Episode 4 - Roaming in Morvern
Freya is off to explore Morvern in the West Highlands with Dr Jennie Robertson to talk Highland Clearances, and to Ardtornish to understand Highland estate management. Politics, conservation and tourism’s relationship with the natural environment are all on the menu.
